Hence, picking the right wedding shirts is important, and special care must be given to the colour, cut and detailing.

If it is a church wedding it is much easier because you cannot go wrong with the standard tuxedo wedding shirts. These are stylish tailor made wedding shirts which are fixed with cuff links and collar studs. These wedding shirts make sure that you stand equal to the bride who will be in her lovely gown. Grooms wearing custom dress wedding shirts with embroidery or custom accent have become the fashion nowadays. There can be various accents like the plain interior cuff and custom made plackets, collars or cuffs on wedding shirts.

For functions prior to the wedding like the Mehendi or a pooja, you do not have to necessarily wear a tuxedo shirt. A plain neutral or light coloured shirt with broad collars for a cravat or a tie makes good formal wedding shirts. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Having An Outdoor Wedding

You and your fiance are different and both of you are contemplating an outdoor wedding against a more conventional church wedding! An outdoor wedding holds manifold advantages, especially so for those feeling claustrophobic by church weddings. However, there are certain disadvantages with outdoor weddings as well. Let us consider the pros and cons of outdoor weddings to help finalize any of your decisions in this regard.

Advantages of an Outdoor Wedding:

Church weddings invariably pose restrictions on the themes that can be used for the weddings. With a church wedding, one needs to primarily stick to more conservative themes that are traditional and time honoured. With an outdoor wedding you have a lot more freedom and you can pretty much call all the shots with regard to the themes you would want to have for the wedding. The sky is the limit when it comes to choosing the themes – it can be a beach theme or a western theme or anything else that catches your fancy.

The cost is a great advantage when it comes to outdoor weddings as they are definitely much less costly than what you would incur with a church service. You don’t have to pay for using a public garden or a beach to get married, and the only costs in this regard will be what you need provide to the minister. And this goes with a host of conveniences like discarding formal attire and going with a simple sundress (if you prefer) when getting married in a sunny beach or a warm garden.

Another advantage with outdoor weddings is that you and your guests will feel much more relaxed and comfortable in the casual environment as against a stuffy church environment. Having lots of movement space is also welcome as people don’t have to jostle like in a church.

With outdoor weddings, the same venue can be used for wedding and reception; you just need to find someone for decoration and catering.

Disadvantages of an Outdoor Wedding:

The unpredictable weather can play a big havoc with your wedding. Mother Nature is not under our control and the weather man can be wrong. Moreover, the unpredictable nature of the weather makes it difficult to plan outdoor weddings ahead of time. It can be pouring on the day of your wedding and so it would be a good idea to have a back-up plan when you are contemplating an outdoor wedding.

Also most Catholic priests don’t allow you to marry outside of the church. So, you need to convince your priest first if you really want to go ahead with an outdoor wedding.

To summarize, outdoor weddings work for some people and not for others. So, plan carefully taking into account all pros and cons and figure out what will work best for you.

Couple Renew Their Vows Ten Years After Wedding In Barbados

A couple from Doddington have renewed their wedding vows ten years after their original wedding in Barbados, at their local parish church where they were surrounded by family and friends.

Angela and Dave Stocker enjoyed a tropical wedding in Barbados ten years ago with a small group of guests including Angela’s parents who lived on the Caribbean island. When Dave lost his wedding ring two years ago while the couple were on holiday, Angela came up with the idea of proposing to her husband on their ninth wedding anniversary.

Angela explained: “I took him away to Leicester for the weekend as a surprise for our anniversary and in the evening I asked him to marry me.”

Instead of planning another wedding in Barbados, the couple decided to tie the knot for the second time in their local church where they could be surrounded by family and friends who were unable to make their original wedding abroad.

Over 100 guests crammed into the parish church, including Angela’s parents who had flown over to the UK especially for the happy occasion which took place just three days after the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary.

Angela added: “We did it here this time so all our friends and family could be there. It got a bit out of hand but it was superb. I wanted it to be all different.”

What was originally planned as small celebration soon became an event on a larger scale and the couple’s wedding reception took place in Doddington Village Hall.

The wedding cost approximately 1,300 and Angela managed to find most of the dresses, including her wedding dress, on EBay. Angela’s original bridesmaids also wore dresses which amazingly matched the dresses from the wedding in Barbados ten years ago.

As many couples struggle with the decision of getting married abroad or tying the knot in their home country, this couple have proved that you can do both and it doesn’t even have to be expensive.
